Welcome to Northern Lights 2012 Season
WELCOME TO THE NORTHERN LIGHTS BASEBALL & SOFTBALL ASSOCIATION (NLBSA).

We formerly were part of Little League, but are now an independent baseball and softball association.  Many of our returning players and their parents have received a letter from Little League which is misleading about what we are and aren’t offering.  We are still very much providing youth baseball and softball to players aged 5-18.  The only difference is we aren’t doing it as part of Little League.  This allows us a lot of flexibility – which we had none before.  We can now offer a wider range of recreational or league play and competitive/tournament play at levels specific to the needs of all of our players!!!! We no longer have formal boundaries, so anyone in the area who wants to join our league is welcome and we welcome players from Thornton, Brighton, Westminster, Northglenn, Broomfield and the surrounding areas who would like to join us to experience baseball and softball as it should be played!

What do the changes mean to the average participant at NL?  Not much:

·         You will still get 18-24 games (unless you want more – see baseball and softball pages regarding tournament teams)
·         You will still play half your games at NL (unless you are a Tballer or a Coach Pitch player then you will play 100% of your games at NL)
·         You still get that full uniform (returning the belt and jersey of course…) and a trophy for your registration fee (unless you make a tournament team – see baseball and softball pages regarding tournament teams)
·         You’re parents still get the privilege of working the concession stand,
·         We did change who you will play!  No longer will we play Little League teams – so no more Sherrelwood, Pearl Mack or Shaw Heights grudge matches...  Instead we will play other JCJBL and IPGSA teams (see the baseball and softball pages for more information on these new leagues.

If you have questions or prefer to register in person we have two walk in registration dates.
We will be holding our first walk in registration on Saturday 1/28 at the Dick's Sporting Goods at Hwy 7 and I-25. (map

)
Our second date will be Saturday 2/4 at Margaret Carpenter Rec Center at 11151 Colorado Boulevard (map

2012 Winter Clinics
posted 12/4/2011 by Northern Lights Board

2012 Season is Right around the corner

Believe it or not work is already underway to get ready for next season. You will be hearing very soon about a number of exciting changes. Registration is right around the corner. We will open registration January 1. Meanwhile here are a few things we wanted to let you know about. First, Darren Cox and Thunder Academngy have opened an invitation to Northern Lights players 14 and under to join their 2011 Christmas Hitting Camp from Decmber 28th to 30th. If you are looking for something to do during the days of winter break, or want an opportunity to get back in the swing of things for next season this is a great opportunity. Take a look at the information here. As an added benefit any Northern Lights coaches are welcome to attend for free and pick up some tips on teaching hitting.

Second, as in past years Northern Lights will also be offering clinics in January and February to get ready for next season (or just to get out and have some fun and get some exercise).

Dates: Jan 15th, 22nd, 29th Feb 12th, 19th, and 26th
from 10 AM to noon at Impact Sports in Broomfield. These clinics will be $10/session payable at your first session. Spots will fill up fast so please contact Chad Clark at csquared_e_b@yahoo.com for more information or to register.   We hope you are having a great offseason. Happy holidays and best wishes.
